On July 1, during his working visit to the Chuvash Republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the ceremony of unveiling the memorial «Builders of Silent Frontiers». All-Russian forum of cities of labor valor took place in the Chuvash Republic.
Head of the Office of Russian President for Public Projects Sergey Novikov, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, Head of the Chuvash Republic Oleg Nikolaev and other officials took part in the ceremony.
This is the first memorial to home front workers and builders of defensive lines in Russia.
The Head of the Chuvash Republic initiated the construction of the memorial, which was built in the Kozlovsky region of the Chuvash Republic near the village of Baigulovo.
The capsule for construction was laid in August 2021. The facility perpetuates the labor feat of the builders of defensive lines, and these are mainly women and children, who in difficult weather and living conditions created a defensive line in the rear.
Welcoming the participants of the ceremony, Tatarstan President emphasized the importance of the event, both in terms of the memory of the feat of the rear and patriotic and spiritual and moral education of the younger generation.
He also thanked Nikolaev for the initiative of building a memorial and holding a number of events dedicated to the builders of the Kazan Defensive Perimeter and the Sur Defensive Line.
