On June 29, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a videomeeting with Governor of East Azerbaijan Province Zein ol-Abedin Razavi Khorram.
Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan highly values cooperation with Iran under the Russian-Iranian relations.
He said that the leaders of Russia and Iran maintain a constant dialogue: "Each of their conversation emphasizes the mutual attitude towards the consistent strengthening of bilateral cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects in the trade and economic sphere".
Tatarstan President noted that Tatarstan and Iran have rich historical, economic and cultural ties and gathered a lot of experience of cooperation. The Consulate General of Iran operates in Kazan, Tatarstan and Iran have a memorandum on trade cooperation, interaction with a number of Iranian provinces, including East Azerbaijan is carried out. In different years the leading companies of Tatarstan implemented their projects in Iran. A business mission from Tatarstan recently visited Tehran and noted a serious mutual interest in the work.
According to Minnikhanov, today it is necessary to intensify cooperation with the province of East Azerbaijan: the exchange of trade and economic delegations, supply of industrial products, cooperation in the sphere of agro-industrial complex, contacts in the sphere of tourism. Interaction in science, education and culture are also important.
“The province of East Azerbaijan is of interest to us. We should use all opportunities to strengthen our relations efficiently,” Minnikhanov added.
