28.06.2022

On 28 June at their meeting in the Government house of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of the Russian Post Company Maksim Akimov discussed development of a chain of offices of the company in the republic, broadening the list of their services and implementation of the logistics potential of the region.

Tatarstan has begun the programme of rural post offices modernization launched by an errand of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and by the end of 2022 the Post with the support of the One Russia will overhaul 15 post offices in the republic. After renovation customers will receive not only postal or financial services in the post offices but will be able to restore their account at the State Services portal, use its services and print our necessary documents as well as to measure important vitals. The offices will be more assessable for people with disabilities as they will be equipped by wheelchair ramps, broad doorways and the Call Bells.

Rustam Minnikhanov and Maksim Akimov also discussed the development of the transport hub of the Russia Post logistics center at the Kazan airport and the plans of opening the bonded warehouse.

“Post offices are one of the key social facilities especially in the rural area. In Tatarstan there are 111 post offices with 8216 employees and due to their work our residents receive and send mail on time, buy everyday goods, pay utility bills and receive pensions and money transfers. Implementation of the Kazan post logistics center deserves special attention as logistics is a priority issue today. We are ready to take active part in this project”, Minnikhanov said.

In his turn Akimov said: “Tatarstan is an economic center and the center of active consumption. So it is logical that it often becomes the region of new post services, including innovative ones. This is confirmed by our many years of cooperation with Innopolis and its business-graduates. In the same way Tatarstan will become one of the pilot sites for the new format of Russian e-commerce, namely the bonded warehouse”. He continued: “It is also very important for us to concentrate our e-commerce chain in large agglomerations of the republic and to renovate our offices chain in villages”.
