Rustam Minnikhanov holds a meeting of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia in Yakutsk

On June 24, in Yakutsk, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR) with online participation of Russian Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

“To date, the Association includes 18 entities of the country, which account for a third of Russian innovation products,” Tatarstan President said.

Over the past 4 years, four new regions joined the Association, namely Novgorod region, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Nizhny Novgorod region, Khanty- Mansi Autonomous region and Yugra.

At the meeting, VEB.RF reported on the capabilities of the GeoVEB system for making managerial decisions. VEB plans to implement the new system in pilot regions, including in the AIRR regions.

Tatarstan Agency for State Order presented an aggregator for the development of import substitution. It has already been implemented in 6 regions of the country, including Tatarstan, Dagestan, Mordovia, Udmurtia, Astrakhan and Sverdlovsk regions.

A separate report was devoted to the innovative potential of Yakutia.

“I would like to emphasize the dynamic development of the Republic of Sakha. Yakutia is implementing the largest investment projects, creates a high-tech shipyard for the development of the Arctic zone of the country, is the most digital region in the Far Eastern Federal District,” Minnikhanov said.

Khusnullin emphasized that the activity of AIRR is of great importance: “This is especially important now, when we find new ways of economic development. And the experience you have gathered should be disseminated. Almost every region has its own innovative developments that need to be studied and implemented throughout the country”.
