Tatarstan President meets Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aysen Nikolayev

On June 24, during his working visit to Yakutia, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aysen Nikolayev.

Welcoming his colleague, Minnikhanov congratulated the residents of the region on the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

Minnikhanov also expressed hope that the Days of Tatarstan in Yakutsk held on these dates will leave the same bright impressions as the Days of Yakutia, which took place last year in Kazan.

Tatarstan President said that in recent years, interregional trade turnover has approached the level of 4 billion roubles. “We are interested in cooperation between enterprises of the petrochemical industry, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, agro-industrial complex, as well as in expanding food supplies,” he said.

The meeting participants discussed that the interaction in digitalization and computer equipment supply is promising. According to Tatarstan President, in this regard, it would be interesting and useful for the delegation of Yakutia to visit the International Digital Forum Kazan Digital Week. Minnikhanov thanked Nikolaev for his full support of the activities of the Tatar community in the region, which amounts to more than 8,000 Tatars.

Nikolayev drew attention to the fact that last year Yakutia ranked 9th in the export of IT products, and this is an attractive area for cooperation.

He expressed hope that in the near future direct flights Yakutsk - Kazan will be launched.

In addition, Nikolayev separately focused on the interest in the development of the gas engine fuel.

During the meeting, the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) handed in the first medal in honor of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic to Tatarstan President.

Later on the same day, Minnikhanov and Nikolayev laid flowers at the monument to Platon Oyunsky, the Yakut Soviet writer, the first in history scientist of the native language of the Yakuts. The established state award named after Oyunsky is awarded for outstanding works in literature, art and architecture that have been widely recognized by the public and have become national property of the republic.
