Rustam Minnikhanov: We are really interested in broadening our contacts with Turkish partners

On 20 June in the Government house of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with a delegation from the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technologies and the administration of the Gebkim Specialized Organized Industrial Zone. 

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov attached attention to the developing strategic cooperation between Turkey and Russia and said: “This makes it possible for us to actively promote projects both in Tatarstan and Turkey. Despite all difficulties, last year our trade turnover exceeded 560m US dollars. I think this number can be much bigger”. 

He expressed gratitude to Turkish investors for their trust and said that all their plants in the republic continue working successfully. In the whole for all the time Turkish companies have invested about 2.5bn dollars in the republic, he added. 

“We are really interested in broadening our contacts. Flight connections and interaction between our municipalities testify that we have great possibilities for joint work. Tatarstan has many interesting sites for implementation of joint projects”, Minnikhanov concluded.
