Project “Tatarstan citizen’s ID-card” to be implemented at the Mir payment system

On June 17, on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and CEO of the National Payment Card System Vladimir Komlev signed an Agreement and a “road map" on interaction. “Tatarstan citizen’s ID-card” project will be implemented under the Agreement.

The card issuance for Tatarstan residents at the Mir payment system will start this year.

“In April, Rustam Nurgalievich and I discussed options of ID-card content, and we are sure that the project can become advanced in Tatarstan. One of the card’s unprecedented opportunities can be its full digital release through the State Services Portal. The choice - to receive a plastic or virtual card - will be left to the residents of the region,” Komlev said.

The ID-card will combine a number of socially significant services, including a public transport pass, compulsory medical insurance policy, personal insurance policy number (SNILS) and others.
