On 17 June on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati.
Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati for the attention attached to cooperation with Tatarstan as a region of Russia in the context of Russia-Bahrain relations.
“The recent visit (19-20 May)paid to Tatarstan by the Chairman of the Supreme Islamic Affairs Council of Bahrain Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Khalifa is an evidence of our friendly relations especially in today’s difficult reality”, Rustam Minnikhanov said.
“I would like to ask you to pass my gratitude to the King of Bahrain His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for presenting your country on the events held in Tatarstan,” he added.
Tatarstan President said that the republic highly appreciates good relations with Bahrain and tries to broaden them. He reminded that the Tatneft Oil Company is interested in cooperation with Bahrain and its representatives are ready to come to Manama for discussing cooperation and interactions.
Moreover, there are such promising spheres of cooperation as attracting Bahrain investments to projects in Tatarstan, establishment of joint work in Islamic banking, Islamic Finance and Islamic tourism, cooperation within the OIC format and supplying Tatarstan products, such as KAMAZ trucks and textiles to Bahrain.
On his turn, the Ambassador said: “His Majesty will definitely visit Kazan. We confirm that Bahrain is a very friendly country and we are ready to work together in all spheres and be useful. We are interested in cooperation with the KAMAZ Automaker”.
