Rustam Minnikhanov meets Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

On 17 June, during his working trip to St Petersburg, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Welcoming the Kazakhstan President, Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated him with the successful referendum on introducing amendments and additions to the Kazakhstan State Constitution and underlined the historical importance of the event for the country.
“Today Kazakhstan is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan and we are grateful for the attention to our issues and continuous readiness to facilitate implementation of joint projects”, he said. 
 
Last year the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan made 629m US dollars and the parties said it was very important to increase the numbers and broaden cooperation and the range of supplied products.

In his turn, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said: “It is with great pleasure that I recall my recent visit to Tatarstan, it was very informative from the business point of view”, and added that he attentively follows the implementation of joint projects and keeps them under his personal control. 

In the end of the meeting the Tatneft Oil Company and the KazMunayGas National Corporation signed an agreement on intent on implementation of the Karaton-Sarkamas geological prospecting project in Arytau region of Kazakhstan.
