Rustam Minnikhanov meets Director General of VK Company Vladimir Kirienko

On June 16, on the sidelines of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of VK Company Vladimir Kirienko signed an Agreement on educational, scientific and technical cooperation between Tatarstan and VK Company.

Prior to the signing ceremony, Minnikhanov and Kirienko discussed the development of cooperation. «It is important for us to establish close cooperation with the leaders of the domestic IT industry, one of which is VK Company. Currently the IT industry of the republic has about 3,000 companies and more than 40,000 specialists», Tatarstan President said.

At the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of developing the solutions of VK Company in Tatarstan. In particular, the use of the social network «Vkontakte» to expand the number of users of state portals, their involvement in the provision of state services. The company also proposes to use artificial intelligence for recognition and synthesis of Tatar speech and voice-over translation. In addition, the meeting discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects in the Innopolis Special Economic Zone, namely - the creation of the Development Center in partnership with the ICL Group of Companies. The company is also ready to cooperate with the University of Innopolis on educational, scientific and technical projects. In particular, to create a joint department for scientific activity, to organize training and internships of its employees.
