On June 15, on the sidelines of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Aleksander Tsybulsky and thanked him for attention to strengthening cooperation with Tatarstan.
President of the republic emphasized that Tatarstan and Arkhangelsk region have experience of joint work. The parties also discussed the opportunities and volumes of mutual trade. In particular, Tatarstan is interested in expanding the supply of trucks, shipbuilding products, pharmaceuticals, etc. Digitalization is also an important area of cooperation. Minnikhanov expressed confidence that by joint efforts it is possible to strengthen the existing partnerships between the regions.
Tatarstan President invited the Governor to the celebration of the Republic Day on August 30. Minnikhanov thanked the senior officials of the region for supporting the Tatar community. Today, more than 2.3 thousand Tatars live in the Arkhangelsk region; in 2018, a restored mosque was opened in Arkhangelsk. The Governor of the Arkhangelsk region also emphasized that after the previous meeting with Minnikhanov, interregional cooperation has intensified. At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov and Tsybulsky signed the Action Plan for 2022-2024 on implementation of the Agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural cooperation between Tatarstan and the Arkhangelsk region.
