Head of Tatarstan Government Rustam Minnikhanov :”Development of information and communicative technologies may be realized in close interaction with federal authorities.”

Tatarstan pays much attention to conversion to information society and development of information and communicative technologies. Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov reported about it today at opening of VI yearly international scientific and practical conference “Information and communicative technologies of global information society”. More than 450 participants take part in the conference that will last till September, 5. Head of Federal information technologies agency Vladimir Matukhin arrived in Kazan to take part in the event.

According to Head of Tatarstan Government the most important area is creation of IT-cluster in ICT sphere in Tatarstan. This process is realized in accordance with Tatarstan president Order №320 dated July, 10, 2008.
It’s meant that the basis of IT-cluster will become IT-technopark (within realization of the program “Creation of technoparks in Russian Federation in the sphere of high technologies”).

Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that in 2008 1,5 billion RUR will be allocated for creation of IT-technopark, 1 billion RUR – from Tatarstan budget, 596 million RUR – federal budget.
Tatarstan Prime Minister also informed that the Center of program decisions development is being formed in republic. It is being created on terms of joint work with one of the leading IT world companies (IBM) and will become the base structure of IT-technopark.

Rustam Minnikhanov also added that republic is aimed to provide inter-republic needs in information technologies and to enter Russian and foreign IT-markets.
“Beginning from this year we start long-term planning of IT branch. Republic government confirmed the republic target program “Development and usage of information technologies in Tatarstan for 2008-2010” (“Electronic Tatarstan”). The program includes centralized financing for development and introduction of information technologies. “ - Tatarstan Prime Minister announced.

The development of ICT is realized due to cooperation with federal authorities. Tatarstan is a “pilot region” in realization of large federal IT-projects.
In connection with agreement between Tatarstan and Federal Space Agency the joint project of creation of basic regional infrastructure of space work results usage is being realized. It’ done in the interest of social-economic development of republic.

In connection with agreement between Tatarstan and Federal Geodesy and Cartography Agency the project of creation of single geo-information system of Tatarstan state authorities is being realized.
In conclusion Rustam Minnikhanov wished the participants of VI yearly international scientific and practical conference “Information and communicative technologies of global information society” the fruitful work in Kazan.
