Rutsam Minnikhnaov has launched a construction of a large grain elevator in Zelenodolsk region

On 8 June Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a ceremony of launching the construction of a new large grain elevator in the premises of the Sviyazhsk Interregional Multimodal Logistics Center (SIMLC)

The investor of the 2.4bn roubles project is the August-Agro Company, which is the resident of the Center and the elevator capacity will be 112 500 tonnes of grain. The elevator location will enable railway and water shipment with the uploading speed of 700 tonnes an hour. 

Rustam Minnikhanov noted the successful cooperation of the republic and the August Company and said: “The food safety issue is number one today and Tatarstan needs to produce at least 4m tonnes of grain. It is difficult to forecast any activity without modern qualitative grain storage and processing”. 

Tatarstan President underlined that the republic will continue supporting the August agribusiness projects. “We can see how seriously you approach the implementation of projects and I would like to express gratitude for your active work and trust,” he said.

The first stage of the elevator is to be launched in September 2023 with reaching the project capacity by 2025 and creating nearly 90 jobs.

Director General of the August Company Aleksandr Uskov expressed his gratitude to the administration of the republic for supporting the project and said: “Tatarstan has a unique investments climate in Russia. The projects can be implemented fast here and I hope the project we are starting today will make its contribution into development of agriculture in the republic”.

Later the same day Rustam Minnikhanov visited facilities of other residents of the SIMLC, such as a new warehouse of the marketplace KazanExpress fulfillment center and the construction site of a paving slabs production plant with the project cost of 1.8bn roubles implemented by the Vybor-Povolzhye Company.

Tatarstan President was also shown a concept of the development of the Sviyazhsk Interregional Multimodal Logistics Center which covers the area of 244 hectares with 110 of them occupied by the industrial park. The Center has been established in the Zelenodolsk territory of priority social and economic development and will become a driver for the economy of the region, providing high-tech jobs for its residents and cutting the shuttle migration.
