Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan attaches special importance to improving the quality of life in rural areas

On May 31, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting on topical issues of national security in the regions of the Volga Federal District held by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev.

Together with Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, heads of regions of the Volga region and representatives of federal ministries and departments discussed measures to neutralize threats to national security in the implementation of the state policy in the area of demography and improving the quality of life of the population of rural areas

They emphasized that rural areas are the most important resource. Although a quarter of the population now live in rural areas, their contribution to the country's economic development, food and environmental security is of great importance. In this regard, the state pays special attention to the development of rural areas, improving the quality of life of the rural population.

The meeting considered measures aimed at implementing the adopted strategic documents aimed at creating conditions conducive to poverty reduction, health improving, raising the level of education of the rural population, access to cultural benefits and improving housing conditions.

The meeting paid special attention to the protection of the national interests of Russia against the backdrop of the aggressive policy of the United States and the collective West against our country, as well as the achievement of all the stated goals of the special military operation on denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.
