Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting with entrepreneurs: Our priority is to create a powerful middle class

On May 26, at the Entrepreneur's House in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with representatives of the business community. The meeting, held under the Day of Russian Entrepreneurship, was broadcast online.

Before to the meeting Minnikhanov got acquainted with the products represented at the exhibition-fair.

In his welcoming speech, Minnikhanov emphasized that small and medium-sized businesses are the backbone of the economy that moves the republic and the country forward, and the task of the authorities is to support this movement in every way possible.

“Entrepreneurs are our backbone. Our priority is to create a powerful middle class. Such people, capable and self-sufficient, have special qualities that allow them to take risks, take action and move forward. And our task is to support this movement,” Minnikhanov addressed the participants of the meeting.

Director of Regional Development of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Alexander Smekalin emphasized the high achievements of Tatarstan in supporting and developing entrepreneurship.

People’s Deputy of the State Duma from Tatarstan Ayrat Farrakhov addressed the meeting participants via video link. He emphasized the importance of constant "live" communication between the business community and federal parliamentarians. This makes it possible to respond quickly to the new challenges facing the country’s economy and the republic.

During the meeting entrepreneurs informed about their projects, asked their questions and discussed options for new forms of support for small and medium-sized businesses in the republic.
