Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov meets The Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan (Turkmen: Halk Maslahaty) Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow

On 19 May at his meeting in the Kazan Kremlin with the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan (Turkmen: Halk Maslahaty) Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, who came to Kazan on the invitation of Minnikhanov to take part in International Economic Summit Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022  and celebrations of the 1100th anniversary of adopting Islam by the Volga Bulgaria, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow for taking the invitation and finding a possibility to visit Tatarstan.

He reminded that in the current year Russia and Turkmenistan are celebrating 30 years of the establishment of their diplomatic relations and added: ”Despite all hardships our cooperation not only had not stopped but continues to become stronger. And for this, tremendous credit goes to you, Gurbanguly Mälikgulyýewiç.”

Minnikhanov underlined that a number of Tatarstan industrial companies such as KAMAZ Automaker, the Tatneft Oil Company, the KER-Holding and the Kazan Helicopter Plant have been working in Turkmenistan for many years and the KAMAZ has already fulfilled the contract of delivering 1 982heavy transporters.

Mentioning two high speed ships A-145 and medical ANSAT helicopter supplied to Turkmenistan, Minnikhanov concluded” Brotherly Tatarstan was, is and will be your reliable partner”.

In his turn, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow confirmed his intentions to continue broadening the cooperation and said: “Turkmenistan is ready to continue developing our mutually beneficial cooperation. We are connected by centurys- long historical relations and this is very important for us. We deeply respect the hard working and wise people of Tatarstan”.

In the end of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov handed in Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow the state award of the Republic of Tatarstan – the Order “For Merits to Tatarstan”.

“It is a great honor for me to receive the highest award of Tatarstan and I take it as a sign of deep respect of brotherly Tatarstan to the people of Turkmenistan”, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow  said, receiving the award.
