Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow has addressed the plenary session of the economic summit «KazanSummit 2022»

On 19 May, speaking at a plenary session of the XIII International Economic Summit Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022 held in Kazan with participation of the Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev,  the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Tatarstan and its President Rustam Minnikhanov for having invited him to take part in ceremonial events dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of adopting Islam by the Volga Bulgaria  and in Economic Summit Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit.

He said that this is the sign of strengthening relations, friendship and mutual understanding between Russia and Islamic world countries. “And here Tatarstan plays a special and unique role traditionally being an initiator and intermediate of many projects and proposals aimed at development of inter-state cooperation in economic, trade, investments and humanitarian spheres. Today this mission is especially important as its task is to maintain and consolidate the foundation which was used for development and enrichment of culture of Russian-Islamic civilized world for centuries and for building the mindset and spiritual affinity of Russia and Muslim countries,” he said.

“Benefits of Tatarstan contribution are also manifested in the concept of development of the Turkmen-Russian interstate cooperation. Due to our historical ties, Tatarstan occupies special place in strategic partnership of Turkmenistan with the Russian Federation,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow said and added that currently relations between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan are going to a new level, developing partnership in economic and investments spheres.

“I can put a special emphasis on such large companies as the KAMAZ Automaker, the Tatneft Oil Company, the KER-Holding and the Kazan Helicopter Plant, working in our country. They have gained a perfect reputation in Turkmenistan and our country is going to continue developing mutually beneficial relations with them. We would also like to make our cooperation with Tatarstan partners more active”, he said.

Underlying the powerful scientific and educational and industrial potential of the republic, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow said: For many years we have been sending our young people to study in Tatarstan and currently nearly 5 thousand Turkmen students study at the universities of the republic. We are ready to gradually expand the range of training specialists in different sphere of economy including IT technologies”.
