Rustam Minnikhanov has chaired a meeting of the PJSC Tupolev Board of Directors

On 12 May in the Kazan Aircraft Plant after Gorbunov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is the Chairman of Board of Directors,  chaired a regular meeting of the PJSC  Tupolev Board  with participation of Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Bocharov, Director General of the PJSC UAC and the Vice-President of the All-Russian Branch Amalgamation “SoyuzMash (the Union of Machine-builders)  of Russia Yuriy Slyusar, the Managing Director of the PJSC Tupolev Vadim Korolev and Director of the Kazan Aircraft Plant Nikolay Savitskikh.

Before the meeting its participants got acquainted with the reconstruction and technical re-equipment of the plant, which will celebrate its 95th birthday on 14 May and completes implementation of a large scale industrial modernization programme. They visited assembly shops, aggregate and final assembly shops and the bench-scale complex and walked round the reconstruction sites at the plant.

Key issues of the meeting were fulfillment of the defense order, technical re-equipment of the Kazan Aircraft Plant and current plans of the development of the PJSC Tupolev, and Yuriy Slyusar informed that the Plant is at a new stage of its development and has a stable work load for the period up to 2030.

Summarizing the results of the Board meeting, Slyusar said: “Modernization of the Kazan Plant is the most capital-intensive project implemented by the UAC with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. It includes technology upgrade and new shops and equipment. The plant uses unique technologies for production of new TU-160 planes and starting from this year it will deliver first new serial aircraft” and added: “Today the plant has an additional load of increasing manufacture of civilian production – TU-124 planes. This machine must lend its shoulder by coming back to civil aviation and start carrying passengers”.

According to Yuriy Slyusar, increasing manufacture of TU-214 will need technical preparation of the production and attracting new highly qualified industrial workers and they have already discussed these issues with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
