On 10 May Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited a perennial grass seed cleaning plant located in Leninogorsk municipality. The plant was launched in 2020 and in the following two years, having developed a technology of cleaning seeds of such grasses as fescue, buckwheat, canola flower, oil linen, chia and many others and with the capacity of 3500 tonnes of seeds a year, it cleaned about 2 000 tonnes of seeds in 2021.
The plant provides seed cleaning services to farmers from Bavly, Bugulma, Leninogorsk, Sarman and Aktanysh municipalities as well as to Orenburg and Samara regions and the Republic of Chuvashia and Armenia. Prime reproduction seeds were sold to Voronezh, Moscow and Kursk regions.
Later the same day Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with heads of farms, investors and heads of settlements in Leninogorsk region, during which the head of the region Ryagat Khusainov reported him that nearly 60 per cent of sowing has been completed and all fuel and fertilizers subsidies have been received.
Minnikhanov remarked that the cattle stock in the region tends to drop down and it is necessary to step up work in this sphere. “Cattle breeding must be developed as its produce and especially milk is in high demand,” he said.
“It is necessary to provide all conditions to make people interested in cattle breeding, including providing forage and developing consumers’ cooperatives”, Minnikhanov said to heads of settlements.
He also stated that the republic will continue implementation of all programmes including support of rural territories “despite the difficult situation in economy. Implementation of all programs is guaranteed this year”.
