Rustam Minnikhanov in Myanmar: The aim of our visit is to broaden economic cooperation

On 28 April in his opening speech at the round table meeting of business representatives of Tatarstan and Myanmar, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who came on a working visit to the country,  stressed the importance of such work format as it makes it possible for enterprises to establish personal contacts with representatives of business and state power bodies.

“The aim of our visit is to broaden economic cooperation and we want to set up new contacts. Our delegation comprises representatives of business of our republic who are interested in working with your country. We hope that during our visit the business circles will open new spheres for interaction and agree about joint projects”, he said. 

Tatarstan President noted that the republic has a lot to offer as it has serious industry in auto-, aircraft and ship building, the produce of which is well known in the markets of the South and South-East Asia. 

He informed participants of the meeting that the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Myanmar is growing dynamically and if in 2016 it was only 1 600 US dollars, it reached 379 thousand dollars in 2021. 

The KAMAZ Automaker and the Eydos Medicine Company made separate presentations at the meeting in the end of which the Myanmar Rice Federation of Tatarstan RATSIN Agricultural Center signed a cooperation agreement.
