Rustam Minnikhanov meets Director General of Mir payment system Vladimir Komlev

President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of Mir payment system Vladimir Komlev discussed further steps in developing cooperation and prospects of joint projects.

In particular, they considered the development of the project of “The card of Tatarstan resident” based on the Mir payment system. The card will be used both for payment and a number of social services such as an e-travel card, medical insurance policy, personal insurance number and others. 

Speaking at the meeting, Vladimir Komlev said: “In partnership with such an advanced region, which is actively implementing digital services in many spheres, we are planning to develop a modern and technological project with a wide set of socially important services on the basis of the Mir bank card .At the same time we will preserve already existing digital products, which are in demand with the residents of the region, complementing them with new possibilities. For example we can make the Mir a key to access social support and services in healthcare, culture and sports. Today we have discussed prospects of developing the card of Tatarstan resident and I hope it will be really convenient and useful for all residents of the region”. 

The Head of the Tatarstan Prime Minister’s Office Shamil Gafarov, the regional Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Protection Elmira Zaripova and, the Executive Manager of the National Bank in Tatarstan Marat Sharifullin also took part in the meeting.

In 2021 the Mir bank cards issued in the republic were used for more than 297m transactions to pay for services and goods at the total amount of 182.5bn roubles, which showed 45 per cent growth compared to 2020.
