Head of Tatarstan Government Rustam Minnikhanov “We planned to harvest 5 million tones of grain but now everything depends on weather”.

Today Rustam Minnikhanov visited the fields of Nizhnekamsk, Rybno-Slobodsky, Tulyachinsky, Pestrechinsky districts of Tatarstan. Accompanied by RT Minister of Agriculture and Foodstaff Marat Akhmetov RT Prime Minister observed the harvesting and met with grain growers and investors.

“Today we regret only about bad weather and it’s not possible to organize harvesting everywhere. However, soil cultivation is being carried, seeding complexes are working.”, - Rustam Minnikhanov told to journalists.

Head of RT Cabinet noted that the situation in 4 districts of Tatarstan is the following: Rybno-Slobodsky, Tyulyachinsky, Pestrechinsky districts are in the stretch – harvesting of grain crops is finished for 86-90 %, Nizhnekamsk district is behind.

According to data for August, 28, 4 million 880 thousand tones of grain have been milled in Republic. 1 million 150 thousand tones have been transported to elevators.
“Bread is good, but it’s early to settle down because we’ll have to do harvesting in difficult conditions, it’s mainly connected with weather.” - Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out. It was planned to harvest 5 million tones of grain but now everything depends on weather.

Answering the questions of mass media officials, RT Prime Minister announced that republic tries to keep prices for foodstaff from rising, monitoring of prices is being held in Tatarstan and neighboring districts.
Rustam Minnikhanov told that there is no need to worry about increase of prices for bread. This year is favourable. Somewhere the prices may even be lower for we have enough resources.

RT Government Head underlined that today the questions of price decrease are not solved by administrative way, there’re market mechanisms for this. Besides, flour mill enterprises, bread-baking plants, retail trade networks participate in price setting.
