On 16 April Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is on a working trip to Moscow, visited Russian State Agricultural University after K. Timiryazev, which specializes in training high quality specialists for agriculture. Today the university comprises 8 institutes, 79 chairs and has 18 000 students.
On his tour round the university, Minnikhanov was shown the Chair of Aquaculture, seeds selection center, the center of horticulture and vegetable farming and many other departments.
A number of Tatarstan companies and organizations, such as the Association of Pedigree Seeds of Tatarstan, Agricultural Scientific Research Institute of the republic, Kazan State Agrarian University, the Innopolis University and Kazan Federal university have a long term strategic partnership with the Moscow University which helps to organize regular retraining courses. A new educational programme of training agro technician of new generation was launched in 2021 as implementation of a new educational programme developed together with the Innopolis University.
At his meeting with students of the university from Tatarstan, Minnikhanov said: “Today the agribusiness complex is the largest exporter of our country. Your profession is in big demand and your knowledge will be useful no matter where you will be working”.
He assured that the republic is ready to organize practical training and exchange of delegations. “Today we are doing a lot to make life in the country not much different from that in the city. Our task is to create good conditions for people to stay to work in the village rather than go away”, he concluded.
In the end of the meeting the rector of the university handed in Rustam Minnikhanov a copy of his personal file for presenting his thesis for a doctor’s degree which he defended at the University in 2001.
