Rustam Minnihanov has visited “ICL Techno” plant in Laishevo region and handed in new laptops to teachers

On 11 April Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the ICL Techno computers plant in Laishevo region of the republic where the Chairman of the ICL –KPO VS Company Viktor Dyachkov told him about the plant’s products and prospects for further development of the production. Minnikhanov was also told about work of the engineering center and shown the project of motherboard manufacture at the second industrial grounds of the plant in the Special Economic Zone of Innopolis in the same region.

Speaking about produce of the ICL –KPO VS Company, its Director General Yevgeniy Stepanov told Minnikhanov that in 2021 the company manufactured 121 000 items including PCs, laptops and AIOs and said that the company has been working in the mode of import replacement for three years already.

Later the same day Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a ceremony of handing in Raybook laptops produced by the ICL to 10 school teachers, who prepared winners of specialized school Olympics in IT and Informatics.

Speaking to the participants of the ceremony, Minnikhanov said: “For the company the work under new conditions is also new challenges related to import replacement. It is doing serious work and this makes us sure that we will find a solution in the modern situation Today we are handing in laptops to school teachers and in total 12 000 laptops will be distributed to teachers which provides serious support to the education system”. He also expressed his gratitude to the Ak Bars Bank for purchasing the laptops and said: “We will continue this support. We understand that it is not cheap but today high quality education is impossible without digitalization”.

After the ceremony, Tatarstan President held a meeting on issues of import replacement and development of the IT products in demand.

Within the Year of Digitalization (2022) Tatarstan has started the programme of providing all school teachers with new laptops which is implemented by the Ak Bars Bank on the initiative of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and is aimed at digitalization of the education sphere.

In January-March 2022 the ICL plant manufactured 12 000 laptops for teachers.

The Chairman of the Ak Bars Bank Board Zufar Garayev has said that the charity and sponsorship are part of the social responsibility policy and the bank will pass the laptops which will replace the outdated computers at school. The work is being implemented together with the Tatarstan Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications of the republic and the ICL Company.
