On 6 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting of the Security Council of the republic and the Coordination Meeting on provision of law and order, where the participant discussed additional measures in implementation and development of the law-enforcement part of the Safe City hardware and software system. The Chairman of the regional State Council Farid Mukhametshin and Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin also took part in the meeting.
Speaking at the event, Rustam Minnikhanov said that ensuring people’s safety is the most important task of the state power bodies. “I should say that our republic has done sufficiently much in development of video surveillance. The decisions taken made it possible to substantially improve the crime detection rate. Thus, the CCTV helped to detect 1 787 crimes last year,” he said.
Minnikhanov underlined that the chief positive results of the implementation of the Safe City was decreasing the crime and provision of law and order. “Using modern solutions and analytical means we can count on decrease of the street crime, car accidents and the number of people, dying in car crashes as well as the growth of the crime detection rate in public places and streets”, he said.
“Implementing the Safe City project it is necessary to improve and renovate its hardware and software system and to achieve the best results”, Tatarstan President added.
Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications of Tatarstan Ayrat Khayrullin told participants of the meeting about main spheres of the project and about integrated CCTV register established at the Tatarstan Geoportal which contains information from 54 000 cameras and increases efficiency of the video surveillance system.
Tatarstan Internal Minister Artyom Khokhorin said that the necessity and demand of the video surveillance system is confirmed practically every day and in three months of 2022 it already helped to detect 502 crimes and prevent 1745.
Director General of the Tattelecom Communication Company Ayrat Nurutdinov and the Mayor of Naberezhnyye Chelny Nail Magdeyed reported to the meeting participants about results of the project implementation in Kazan and Naberezhnyye Chelny.
Addressing heads of municipalities and especially of big cities, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the video surveillance system was the most efficient tool for provision safety and gave an errand to the Ministry of Digitalization of Public Administration to carry out a survey of the cameras in use and to develop a concept of further development of the Safe City hardware and software system till 2025.
