Rustam Minnikhanov has a meeting with Senegal President Macky Sall

On 31 March at their meeting in Dakar, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Senegal President Macky Sall discussed the results of the visit of the Tatarstan delegation to the country and plans for further development.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to the Senegalese President for the reception and his personal interest to cooperation with Tatarstan.

The trade turnover between the parties has been up to 2mUS dollars for the last two years and they agreed that this index was too low and there is a growth potential. In particular, during this visit the Ak Bars Holding Company discussed cooperation in ship-building and the Tatneft Oil Company discussed implementation of possible projects.

Speaking to Macky Sall, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Mister President, I would like to thank you for the possibility to visit your country and its capital. I was in Dakar in 2004 and can see what huge changes have happened here”.

“It is very important for us to find good and reliable partners as industry and agriculture are very well developed in our regions and we are ready to work in these spheres. At the same time Senegal has favourable conditions for investors and it is a nice hub to move further to other countries of West Africa,” he concluded.
