On 31 March Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is on a working trip to Senegal, took part in a round table meeting at the Tatarstan-Senegal business forum.
Representatives of the KAMAZ Automaker, who also took part in the meeting, told that in 2021 the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Senegal made 1.76 US dollars and the company delivered 167 KAMAZ trucks in 2003-2021, and in 2021 organized training of Senegal drivers and mechanics both at home and in the KAMAZ training center in Naberezhnyye Chelny. The meeting participants from KAMAZ also told about their plans for further cooperation.
In his welcoming speech to the participants of the forum, Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is interested in cooperation with Senegal.
“We have come to Senegal to broaden our trade and economic cooperation and to establish new business contacts,” he said. “We think that there are large prospects in working together in machine-building, petrochemical, agriculture and innovational branches of industry”, Minnikhanov concluded.
The delegation from the republic also comprises Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister-the Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov, Director General of the Tatneft Oil Company Nail Maganov, Director General of the Ak Bars Holding Company Ivan Yegorov and representatives of the KAMAZ Automaker, the Kazan Helicopter Plant and others.
