On March 25, speaking at the Council for Culture and Art under Tatarstan President, at the Kazan City Hall, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that for Tatarstan, the issues of preservation, study and enhancement of cultural heritage are one of the main priorities of the state policy. Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Culture Elena Yampolskaya took part in the meeting.
Before the event, Minnikhanov, accompanied by Tatarstan Minister of Culture Irada Ayupova, looked around an exhibition of Tatar musical instruments.
Opening the meeting, Tatarstan President congratulated all the participants on their professional holiday - the Day of the Cultural Worker.
Tatarstan President stressed that today Russia is under enormous pressure from the West. Every day there are information attacks. It has become a practice to spread fakes and false information that denigrates our country and people. “In order to preserve our statehood, independence, the right to life, relying on our traditions and spirituality, we should be united. Russia has always been strong in cultural traditions. It is symbolic that 2022 has been declared by Russian President the Year of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia,” Minnikhanov said.
He noted that today there is no single federal law that regulates the preservation and use of intangible cultural heritage: rites, national cuisine, folklore. Earlier, the State Council of Tatarstan submitted the draft law «On intangible cultural heritage» to the State Duma, which is currently under discussion.
According to Minnikhanov, special attention is paid to creating conditions for the education of harmoniously developed and socially responsible person. He noted that the presence of impressive knowledge in children is not a guarantee of success. One of the tools that help us to develop creative thinking and the ability to generate ideas are creativity and contact with culture.
He said that under the strategic initiative "Invented in Russia" for the first time this year the Kazan Art College named after Feshin will open a school of creative industries. This is a new space for teenagers from 12 to 17 aimed at developing creative abilities, design thinking, and activating a teenager's personal resources.
During the meeting, issues of preserving cultural heritage, the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Culture of the republic for the period up to 2030, as well as the development of education and training of personnel were discussed.
