Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the opening of the Chirchik technopark in the Tashkent region

On March 23, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on a working visit in Uzbekistan, took part in the opening of the chemical-industrial technopark «Chirchik» in the Tashkent region.

Before the ceremony, Tatarstan President had a working meeting with Uzbekistan Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, at which he thanked the Prime Minister for the invitation and the possibility of a bilateral meeting.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues of economic cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan under the Russian-Uzbek relations. Among the main issues were the implementation of the joint project on the construction of the chemical-industrial technopark «Chirchik» in the Tashkent region; the supply of KAMAZ trucks and the consideration of supplies of buses and electric buses; sale of a wide range of tire production «Nizhnekamshyna» and expansion of the network of Tatneft filling stations. Minnikhanov briefly presented to Aripov projects and other large Tatarstan companies ready to expand cooperation.

Uzbekistan Prime Minister started the opening ceremony of the chemical-industrial technopark «Chirchik». He emphasized that the ceremony is held on the days of the celebration of Navruz holiday, the holiday of the beginning of spring and symbolizes the revival and a new stage in the development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Russia, being an example of cooperation with Tatarstan.

In his turn, Minnikhanov said: “Today we are taking part in the opening of the Chirchik chemical-industrial technopark. First of all, I would like to thank the leadership of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan for supporting the development of Tatarstan-Uzbekistan cooperation, as well as everyone who participate in the implementation of this project. The area of 31.2 hectares will provide all necessary conditions for residents. The availability of an integrated engineering infrastructure will ensure a quick start of production. The residents of the site will be small and medium-sized businesses. It is planned to create at least 2,200 jobs. The industrial park in the city of Chirchik is a good contribution to the expansion of Russian-Uzbek cooperation at the regional level”.

During his speech, Tatarstan President announced that the first residents of the technopark are the Tatarstan companies, including VR-Plast Company for the production of plastic, Bionovatik Company - a manufacturer of plant protection products and Natural Health - a manufacturer of nutritional supplement. In conclusion, he congratulated all those present on this significant event and Navruz holiday and wished a successful start.

The participants and guests of the ceremony watched a video about the stages of the project implementation and a presentation of the capabilities of the Chirchik. All present also got acquainted with the product samples of the resident companies of the Technopark.

The ceremony ended with the signing of a «road map» on expansion of cooperation between Khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent and Tatarstan Government for 2022-2023.

Aripov and Minnikhanov also took part in the ceremony of signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Nizhnekamsk municipal region of Tatarstan and the municipality of the city of Chirchik and the agreement on investment in chemical-industrial park «Chirchik» between Technopark «Chirchik» and such companies as Bionovatik, VR-Plast and Natural Health.
