On 21 March at a meeting with entrepreneurs in the Chamber of Commerce of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the main task for today was to preserve the economy and jobs. To ensure this the power bodies and business should work together systemically, he added.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that as Russia is facing an unprecedented economic and sanctional pressure from the western countries, the Russian government is taking a number of measures to support citizens and different branches of industry and added that Tatarstan has organized a headquarters and approved the plan of measures to ensure stable development of economy.
Tatarstan President underlined that under the sanctions the business and administration should develop joint steps for solving arising problems. “Components (for manufacturing), working with banks and logistics – there are a lot of issues requiring our active position and position of our federal colleagues. I want to assure you we stand together with you”, - he said.
At the meeting representatives of Tatarstan business told about a number of problems they encountered because of Western sanctions, such as the necessity to develop new logistics schemes with suppliers from Turkey, China and Uzbekistan, frequented unplanned visits of supervisory authorities, establishment of marketing center for farmers to accept, package, store and transport agricultural goods and measures for supporting SMEs’.
In conclusion, Minnikhanov thanked the entrepreneurs for the meeting and underlined that under the new conditions it is necessary to close the ranks and take decisions quickly. “We should focus on different markets, rely on ourselves and be self-sufficient. No matter how difficult it can be, we must go all the way. We will work with partners who have maintained relations with us, and there are quite a few of them”, he concluded.
