On 21 March a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on city building in historical settlements held byTatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic considered a number of projects of the 6 facilities to be built in Kazan and one each in Sviazhsk and Laishevo which are historical settlements.
One of important requirements for the projects under approval was that they ensured integrity of the cultural heritage sites and valuable environment facilities and did not destroy the existing layout of the areas and when presenting the projects, the Chief architect of Kazan Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina said that all of them follow all regulations and take into consideration the development traditions.
The Aide for the Tatarstan President Olesya Baltusova added that all remarks of the architectural community were also taken into consideration.
After listening to information about all projects, the commission approved the construction of a hostel, two multi-apartment houses in Kazan, the renovation of the former building of the Spartak Shoe Factory in Kazan, which will become an IT-park.
Giving his remarks on the construction of the administrative building of the Mukhammadiya madrasah in Kazan, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the complex is to be completed by the 1100 anniversary of adoption of Islam by Volga Bolgaria to be celebrated in the current year.
After having discussed the projects of icon-painting workroom in Sviyazhsk and construction of Ak Mosque in the settlement of Laishevo, the members of the commission approved them too.
