Rustam Minnikhanov: Agricultural fairs in cities should be held at a high level, we understand how necessary and important it is

On March 19, speaking at a Saturday meeting in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that since March 19, the traditional spring agricultural fairs have been resumed in the cities of Tatarstan.

In order to provide citizens with high-quality and affordable rural products, agricultural fairs are being resumed in the cities today,” Minnikhanov said.

He emphasized that in the current realities it is necessary to ensure the availability of basic food. “We should prove not only with words, but with actions that there is no concern about food security,” Minnikhanov said. “Our agro-industrial complex has sufficient resources to meet the needs of our market and allocate resources to other regions. We are a major producer of agricultural products,” he continued.

Minnikhanov said that agricultural fairs in the cities of the republic will be held every week. He instructed the Deputy Prime Minister of the republic – Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov to control the situation, organization and holding of fairs.

According to Minnikhanov, it is important that all demanded products be represented at the fairs. Agricultural fairs will be held weekly until the end of April at sites in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk and Zelenodolsk region. Municipal regions and large enterprises of the agrarian complex as Tatpotrebsoyuz, Yaratel poultry farm, Service-Agro Company, Agro-Invest and Tatagroleasing Companies take part in the organization of fairs.
