On 14 March Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the Head of Zelenodolsk region Mikhail Afanasyev visited the X5 Retail Group distribution center to evaluate the situation with the food products stock including basic consumer goods.
In Tatarstan the X5 Retail Group runs three distribution centers, 777 Pyatyorochka shops, 22 Perekrestock supermarkets and one hypermarket Karusel.
Tatarstan President was shown around warehouses with 6 thousand different products, 32 per cent of which are produced by regional manufacturers. The head of X5 Retail Group department of the interaction with the state bodies of the Volga macroregion Timur Baymullin told that currently there was a high demand of granulated sugar, buckwheat and flour and the main sugar supplier is Zainsk Sugar plant which provides continuous delivery. However, when sugar goes to the shops, consumers buy it out very quickly causing a buying fever. Retailers do not see any risks of shortage of products and the contractors deliver everything in time, he said.
“We have goods in the distribution center and food products go to shops. There are timely deliveries of sugar, salt and buckwheat. It goes without saying that we are not cutting quotas on other categories of products”, Baymullin said. He added that the company introduced 5 per cent limitation of mark on for 4 categories of products such as dairy goods, sugar, bread and bakery products and “the borsch set” vegetables.
Later the same day Rustam Minnikhnov looked around the modern logistics center of TMK Group which keeps different kinds of dairy and semifinished products.
