On 12 March, speaking at a regional meeting in the Government House in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that a number of Corona virus limitations have been lifted in the republic but nevertheless the residents should care about their health and take all self-protection measures.
He said that during the last week the incidence rate in the republic dropped by 2.4 times and the vaccination plan with the first vaccine dose was fulfilled by 100 per cent. It is very important to complete the second component vaccination for development of the stable herd immunity, he added.
By the proposal from the head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) Department in Tatarstan Marina Patyashina the decision was made to lift some limitations such as compulsory self-isolation of people older than 60 years and the responsibility of employers to move this category to the remote work. “All this became possible due to the collective immunity that we have developed”’ – Minnikhanov said.
He drew attention to the necessity of keeping individual safety “and especially people who are above 60 should remember about this. The COVID is still here”.
Minnikhanov also gave an errand to Rospotrebnadzor and law enforcement bodies to continue checking compliance with preventive measures as previous checks showed that one third of institutions are violating them.
