Rustam Minnikhanov: Naberezhnyye Chelny ranks second in the list of municipalities in the amount of construction and shipped products

On 25 February, speaking at the XIII meeting of the City Council of the Naberezhnyye Chelny municipality, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that in the list of municipalities the city ranks second in the amount of construction and shipped products, third in the GRP and forth in the amount of produced goods shipments.

He said that the city occupies first places in the list due to active work of such large enterprises as the KAMAZ Automaker, Daimler, Riat, Knorr-Bremse and others.

He continued saying that “a huge role is played by KAMAZ as currently the enterprise has the world level range of models and the KIP project, whose revenues nearly equal to those of KAMAZ, is one of successful projects”.

Minnikhanov noted that the Naberezhnyye Chelny priority development area is a flagship of such territories of Russia and it is necessary to find new possibilities for development. ”The GRP share of SMEs is currently 34.7 per cent and can be much higher if the area starts working more actively” he said.

Speaking about situation with salaries, the Tatarstan President said that more than 26 thousand of residents of Naberezhnyye Chelny have salaries lower than the subsistence wage.

He also recommended the municipal bodies to pay special attention to condition of roads, transport services and housing and utility services as there are a lot of complaints coming from residents as well as the quality of yard improvements.

Mayor of the city Nail Magdeev reported to Minnikhanov about the situation with public spaces as last year Tatarstan President highly criticized the condition of improved facilities in the region.

Magdeev said that it was a direct duty of the municipality to maintain cleanness and order in newly improved yards while residents should treat their years and improved public spaces with care. “We have made the most serious conclusions including those related to the staff and such facts should be eliminated from our work in the future”, he said.

Rustam Minnikhanov also mentioned the upbringing of the next generation having underlined that the education system of Naberezhnyye Chelny is one of the best (in the republic).

Tatarstan President said that currently the republic is implementing a number of social programs, such as construction of highways M12, detour of Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnyye Chelny and the part of the Shali-Bavly highway at a cost of 100bn roubles and more each. “Never before have so many big infrastructural projects been built in Tatarstan. I think this is a huge support and am sure all they will be implemented”, he concluded.

Minnikhanov also mentioned that huge finances have been allocated on social support of population and implementation of infrastructural projects. “About 23bn roubles have been allocated on social support, half of them coming from the federal budget”, he said.

In the end of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov handed in state awards of the republic to the most outstanding residents of Naberezhnyye Chelny.
