Rustam Minnikhanov attends the 2nd All-Russian Ice Hockey Tournament «The Cup of Friendship – Duslyk»

On February 19, at the arena of the Sports Palace in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the 2nd All-Russian Ice Hockey Tournament «The Cup of Friendship – Duslyk».

The tournament, to take place from February 17 to February 20, 2022 in Tatarstan, will bring together about 260 athletes from 4 cities of Russia (hockey teams from Kazan, St. Petersburg, Salavat, Severomorsk) in the format of a hockey festival, with 4 exhibition matches aimed at socializing and popularizing hockey. The name of the tournament contains the main idea - the promotion of sports and friendship between peoples and representatives of different religious confessions.

The final of the first All-Russian ice hockey tournament “the Cup of Friendship – Duslyk” tournament took place on the ice of the Raifa Monastery Lake on February 21, 2021. In the final match, a team of laity and clergy of the Advent Temple of Kazan «Dobrynya» and a team of «T-26» formed from the military personnel of the Kazan Higher Tank Command School and officers of the Russian National Guard. The first champion in the history of these competitions was «Dobrynya» team from Kazan.

From the stands of the Kazan Ice Palace of Sports, Tatarstan President together with the Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Kirill and Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Khazrat watched the match between the Kazan interfaith team "Millennium" and the team of the Supreme Court of the republic "Themis". In a very close match the Millennium hockey players won with a score of 4:3.

Speaking to the participants of the tournament, Minnikhanov said that hockey is still a favorite sport and wished everyone a good game. He also said that this tournament will become traditional. Tatarstan President handed in prizes to the best players who excelled in previous matches.
