Rustam Minnikhanov meets the Governor of Novgorod region Andrey Nikitin

On 18 February, at the premises of the Special Economic Zone of Alabuga, Tatarstan President Rutsam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Governor of Novgorod region Andrey Nikitin.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov gave high assessment to prospects of cooperation between Tatarstan and Novgorod region. “When Andrey Nikitin took office our inter-regional ties became closer and richer. We have huge experience of working together starting with the Agency of Strategic Initiatives. Nowadays your region is very interesting for us and we can supply machine-building and petrochemical products to Novgorod. There are also big plans concerning other spheres, -Minnikhanov said, when answering questions from the press.

One of such spheres is interaction in development of special economic zones and Minnikhanov reminded that in 2020 SEZ Alabuga signed an agreement of cooperation with Novgorod region to establish there a special economic zone. “This project can seriously change your region. It forms both an income basis and highly paid jobs. The most important thing is that you have chosen the right partner – SEZ Alabuga.  According to the information I have the work goes rather successfully”, - he said.

Minnihanov added that there is an agreement on cooperation between their regions and this year a delegation from Tatarstan is planning to visit Novgorod region. “We are ready to implement joint projects both in our republic and in your region,” – he concluded.

In his turn Andrey Nikitin said that today Tatarstan is a leader in disruptive technologies in education and industry. “It is very important for us that we can learn from the best. Work together, learn their experience and move ahead. When developing the special economic zone we will take into consideration ideas and experience of Tatarstan,” – he concluded.

In the end of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov handed in Andrey Nikitin a commemorative medal of 100th anniversary of TASSR.
