President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov have visited the TANEKO Refinery

On 11 February President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev accompanied by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of the Tatneft Oil Company visited a complex of refineries and petrochemical plants TANEKO in Nizhnekamsk. 

TANEKO is the main oil-processing asset of the Tatneft and in 2021 it processed 12.5 tonnes of oil with the oil refining efficiency of 99 percent and the yield of light products of 85 per cent. 

Later the same day Kassym-Jomart Tokayev went to the operational center where he got acquainted with the main produce of the company such as Euro-6 car petrol, diesel fuel, jet kerosene, marine fuels, base oils and lubricants.

The Kazakhstan President was also told about other spheres of work of the Tatneft Company such as tire production, as starting from 2021 the Tatneft has been implementing a large scale project of tire production in the town of Saran, Kazakhstan. The new plant with the capacity of 3m passenger and LCV tires and 500 thousand truck tires is planned to be launched in the end of 2022 creating more than 1 100 jobs.  Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also had a meeting with the future employees of the new enterprise who are currently passing training at the tire production in Nizhnekamsk.
