Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev accompanied by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visits the Kazan Kremlin Museum Reserve

On February 11, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan, accompanied by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Kazan Kremlin Museum Reserve.

Minnikhanov informed about the unique historical complex, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

At the Museum Reserve, Tokayev and Minnikhanov got acquainted with the architecture of the Kul Sharif mosque and Annunciation Cathedral. In the Kul Sharif Mosque, Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Hazrat Samigullin presented the history of the mosque.

Then, Kazakhstan President visited the Annunciation Cathedral, where Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Kirill informed about the Cathedral. During the visit to the Annunciation Cathedral Tokayev invited Metropolitan Kirill to take part in the forthcoming Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan’s capital this year. Kazakhstan President expressed admiration for the image of Kazan, and also called it symbolic that an Orthodox church and a mosque are located on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin.
