Rustam Minnikhanov says at the collegium of the Tatarstan Ministry of Construction: ”We have a powerful construction complex and fulfill all works using mostly our own manpower"

On 8 February , speaking at the end-of-the year collegium of the regional Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Utility Sector held at the Kazan EXPO Exhibition Center, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated all workers of this sphere with the 100th anniversary of the construction branch of industry.

He said that the construction sphere is very important branch of economy and reminded that in 2021 the construction volumes exceeded 416bn roubles with more than 96bn of investments.

The total amount of financing the construction and overhaul of infrastructural facilities made  more than 96.5bn which made it possible to build and carry out overhaul of 4 641 facilities, he said.

Stating that Tatarstan “has a powerful construction complex and fulfills all works using mostly its own manpower”, Minnikhanov reminded that for the first time in the modern history the republic commissioned 3m square meters of housing in 2021.

At the same time Minnikhanov said that the Ministry should pay special attention to “absence of planning and documents which causes bad quality of work and construction schedule overrun. It is high time to shift to long-term planning and we should have information about all facilities to be built and overhauled for two years ahead”.

He also paid attention of participants of the meeting to the quality of work saying that “the overhauled facilities still have problems and their commissioning should be done more seriously.

Rustam Minnikhanov told about new body the task of which is planning and development of territories and said: “We have many mistakes in developing agglomerations and to make the work more systemic we have decided to establish an Institute of Space planning”.

He also reminded that from 2007 to 2021 as many as 18 087 defrauded homebuyers moved into their flats in 141 commissioned houses which used to be problematic. Minnikhanov thanked the federal government, Vice Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin and the Defrauded Homebuyers Fund for their support and timely decisions.

In the end of the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov handed in state awards of Tatarstan to the best workers of the branch.
