Speaking at a videoconference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic on 22 January, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported about main results of work of the livestock section in 2021. Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin also took part in the meeting.
Zyabbarov said that last year the branch produced 1m 435 thousand tonnes of milk, which was by 2 per sent more than in the 2020, while the production of meat remained at the same level of 411.600 thousand tonnes, including 98 200 tonnes of beef, 98 600 tonnes of pork and 212 400 tonnes of poultry.
A number of regions of the republic are implementing agribusiness investments projects including a 2 250 cows dairy unit in Yelabuga region, three diary units with the total number of cows of 2 400 to be built in Arsk region and 6 000 cows diary units to be built by Kama Bacon Company investor in Menzelinsk region, he informed.
Speaking at the meeting, Tatarstan President has said: “Milk will always be a source of revenues in the country. That is why we will continue focusing on livestock breeding. It is necessary to improve quality of livestock and use modern selection and forage technologies. This will help us to ensure the economic growth”.
