On February 4, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov together with the Director General of United Aircraft Corporation Yury Slyusar and Director General of Irkut Corporation Andrey Boginsky visited the KAPO – Composite Enterprise in Kazan.
The KAPO-Composite plant is a branch of AeroComposite Company, a developer and manufacturer of parts and assemblies made of polymer composite materials for the MC-21 aircraft. The KAPO-Composite manufactures mechanization of the wing and tail of the aircraft by autoclave molding.
Minnikhanov and Manturov got acquainted with the specifics of production and the range of manufactured products. First Deputy Director General of Irkut Corporation, Director General of AeroComposite Company Anatoly Gaydansky presented the enterprise.
The production of composite parts and assemblies is carried out using new Russian materials, which by their characteristics fully meet the requirements of the designers of the MS-21 aircraft. Specialists of the KAPO-Composite improved the autoclave technology for the manufacture of aggregates, which helps to reduce the production cycle and achieve significant savings, which is important in the plan of increasing the production of MC-21 aircraft.
