Rustam Minnikhanov has got acquainted with the construction of a new olephine producing complex ЭП-600 in Nizhnekamsk

On 2 February Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the Head of Rosprirodnadzor (The Federal Supervisory Natural Resources Management Service) Svetlana Radionova and the Chairman of Board of Directors of the SIBUR Holding Dmitriy Konov visited the construction site of a new olephine producing complex ЭП-600 in Nizhnekamsk.

The complex with the capacity of producing 600 thousand tonnes of ethylene a year is one of the main strategic projects of the Nizhnekamskneftekhim Petrochemical Company and its production will be used for manufacturing pipes, wire and cables insulation materials, goods for aircraft and car production as well as household and medical goods.

It is planned the new plant will process up to 1.8n tonnes of raw gasoline a year to manufacture ethylene, propylene, benzene and butadiene. 

Speaking to the guests, Director General of the Nizhnekamskneftekhim Ayrat Safin said that the advanced technologies used for raw carbohydrate materials will ensure the reliability, safety and environmental friendliness of the new complex and the company has already allocated more than 5bn roubles on procurement and mounting of the nature protection equipment. 

He also said that 70 per cent of metalwork is manufactured by Tatarstan plants and all concrete is supplied from Nizhnekamsk and Naberzhnyye Chelny. The plant production lines are built using the latest developments of the German Linde Company, one of the world leading licensors for gas and oil processing technical equipment. The plant to be commissioned in December 2023 is included into the long-term strategy of development of Russian chemical and petrochemical complex by 2030, the strategy of social and economic development of Tatarstan 2030 and the Investments Memorandum of the republic, Safin concluded.

Later the same day the Rosprirodnadzor and the Nizhnekamskneftekhim signed an agreement on their interaction in implementation of a more than 6bn roubles program aimed at nature protection measures and mitigation of hazardous production effects.
