On February 1, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a working visit to Naberezhnye Chelny to take part in a meeting on the interaction of KAMAZ Automaker and the Russian Academy of Sciences.

President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev and Director General of KAMAZ Automaker Sergey Kogogin welcomed the participants of the event.

Tatarstan President emphasized the tasks that the engineering industry faces today. He said that today's meeting is devoted to an important issue of the interaction of science and production. “To date the KAMAZ is a leading company in the engineering industry of our country. A lot of work has been done in recent years. And if you want to maintain your leadership position, you need science and scientific achievements. It will be hard without it," he said.

The meeting discussed the trends and prospects of electric and hydrogen transport development, vehicles with intelligent control systems and the possibility of using new construction materials taking into account available science and technology and human resource capacity of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
