Tatarstan President takes part in the end-of-the year collegium of the Ministry of Transport and Public Road System of the republic

On 25 January upon his arrival to the end-of-the year collegium of the Ministry of Transport and Public Road System of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov was welcomed by the finalists and winners of the regional WorldSkills competition. Minnikhanov congratulated them with the Day of Russian Students and wished them achievements in all their deeds. 

After walking around a topical exhibition, Minnikhanov took part in a ceremony of signing a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Transport and Public Road System of the republic and the Russian University of Transport and an agreement between the Ministry and Avtostrada Road Company on construction of the Shali-Bavly highway.

Speaking at the collegium, Minnikhanov said that large road projects are implemented in the republic with the support of the federal centre, such as construction an М-12 highway with a bridge across the Volga and a highway Alekseyevsk-Almetyevsk and the construction of the Big Kazan Ring and the Voznesenskiy highroad in Kazan. “These are very important projects and I think we should complete the work on time and with high quality. I would like to express gratitude to the Government of our country for its support “, he said.

The President went on saying that the national project of Safe Roads set forth serious tasks to this branch of economy and the roads quality maintenance is very important for prevention of car accidents “We are very worried with this issue as last year 312 people died and 4 542 were injured in 3 684 car crashes in the republic. This year 31 people died in car crashes only in January. We should take systemic decisions and all departments and municipalities should step up work in this direction”, Minnikhanov said.

He also attracted attention to issues of public transport which were extremely acute in Nizhnekamsk, Naberezhnyye Chelny, Almetyevsk and Bugulma “where there is no systemic work both of municipalities and the ministry. I think we will be able to attract investment loans to solve these tasks. But currently there are many complaints about the public transport coming from residents” – Minnikhanov added.

Addressing the administration of the Ministry, Tatarstan President said the situation in the sphere of the river transport also gave cause for concern “Condition of our ships leaves much to be desired and the moorings also require to be renovated. Our internal (transport) network must be efficient. Yet today there are a lot of complains concerning the river transport service”, he said.

In conclusion Minnikhanov told about promising railway transportation projects, further development of the Kazan and Beguishevo airports infrastructure and introduction of digital solutions into the road-and transport sphere.

After his speech, Minnikhanov handed in Tatarstan state awards to employees of the road-and transport complex of the republic.

Speaking at the collegium, the Minister of Transport and Public Roads System of the republic Farit Khanifov  reported about work of the Ministry in 2021 and told about main tasks for 2022.

The Head of the Kuybyshev Railway Company Vyacheslav Dmitriyev told about results of the work of the company in 2021 and the participants of the meeting took part in a tele bridge  dedicated to an opening ceremony of a service center of the company at the Krugloy Pole Railway station in the Volga-Vyatka region of the republic.

At the meeting the Director of the Road Traffic Safety state institution Rifkat Minnikhanov told about digitalization of the transport complex and various platforms used in this process and the Director General of the Kazan International Airport Sergey Romantsov told about the plans of the airport development.
