Rustam Minnikhanov has visited the Akmolinsk Auto Center of the KAMAZ Automaker in Kazakhstan

On 24 January Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who came to a business visit to Kazakhstan, and Director General of the KAMAZ Automaker Sergey Kogogin visited the Akmolinsk KAMAZ Auto Center.

Minnikhanov looked around the auto center, its warehouse and the special vehicles mounting center which all underwent modernization in 2021 increasing the number of storage places in the warehouse.

Currently the KAMAZ products are supplied mainly by the KAMAZ Trading Company – a daughter of the automaker and there is a joint Tatarstan-Kazakhstan assembly plant - The KAMAZ Engineering - in Kokshetau, 28 spare parts selling offices and 18 accredited service centers in Kazakhstan.

According to the results of 2021 the share of KAMAZ in the new truck market of Kazakhstan was 42% or 1068 vehicles.

Today the KAMAZ is implementing three large projects in the country including the construction of an iron castings plant with the capacity of 45 thousand of castings a year (the first stage is to be commissioned in 2024) and the construction of a plant producing up to 74 thousand axle-drive gears a year in the Kostanay Industrial Zone, and a project to increase localization of the driving axle casing production which is waiting for its approval.
