Tatarstan President visits the Shamail Art exhibition in the Khazine Gallery

On September 14, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Shamail Art exhibition in the Khazine Gallery.

Minnikhanov got acquainted with the exposition and various genres of contemporary Islamic art. In particular, Tatarstan President examined the works of the Turkish calligrapher Levent Karaduman, and also took part in painting one of the pictures.

The Shamail Art exhibition brings together the work of artists dealing with the themes of Arabic calligraphy and Islamic art. The gallery features works by masters from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Yekaterinburg and Turkey. Along with traditional religious texts, a number of paintings contain elements from Tatar folklore and poetry.
