Rustam Minnikhanov meets the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic

On July 28, on the sidelines of the 12th International Economic Summit «Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2021» at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Tatarstan President emphasized that recently, the relations between Tatarstan and Kyrgyzstan have significantly expanded.

In February this year, Minnikhanov had a meeting with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, and in April he met Kyrgyz Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov. Last year was a cross year between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, which contributed to the strengthening of economic and humanitarian relations.

Last year the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Kyrgyzstan exceeded 41 million US dollars. Minnikhanov emphasized that it is necessary to expand cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. Priority areas for joint work include oil refining and petrochemistry, mechanical engineering, IT, medicine and pharmaceuticals, science and education.

Tatarstan President briefed about key sectors of the region's economy.

He also said that Tatarstan is ready to share its experience with Kyrgyz colleagues in various areas. During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for interaction in digitalization, education and the development of tourism infrastructure.
