Rustam Minnikhanov: We value the cooperation with our UAE partners

On July 28, at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre during the 12th International economic summit “Russia — Islamic world: KazanSummit 2021”, speaking at a meeting with Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan values a high level of cooperation with UAE partners under the Russian-Emirati relations. UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation Mohammed Ahmed bin Sultan Al Jaber also took part in the meeting.

Minnikhanov emphasized that economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between Russia and the UAE are expanding. Close coordination is maintained on topical issues on the global and regional agenda. Trade and investment cooperation continues to grow.

Tatarstan President said that at its level, Tatarstan actively contributes to strengthening Russian- Emirates relations. The UAE is one of the most attractive partners for the development of economic contacts.

Last year the turnover of Tatarstan with the UAE amounted to 18 million US dollars. Minnikhanov noted that a number of Tatarstan enterprises cooperate with the UAE. In particular, regional companies have repeatedly participated in the IDEX international defense exhibition.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the most promising areas for further cooperation, including in mechanical engineering, agro-industrial complex, tourism, expansion of mutual supplies. Minnikhanov thanked the UAE leadership for their attention to cooperation with Tatarstan. He handed in the Duslyk Order to Mohammed Ahmed bin Sultan Al Jaber.
