On June 1, on the International Children's Day, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with Tatarstan Minister of Youth Affairs Damir Fattakhov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the overhauled Vostok children's camp in Kazan.
The camp was built in 1969. Over a half-century history, over 30,000 children rested here. In 2020, the Vostok was completely reconstructed. As many as 7 modern buildings were built. After a major overhaul, the camp's admission capacity increased to 200 people per shift. This year the camp will host 4 shifts. The first one started.
Minnikhanov congratulated the children on the end of the school year and wished them interesting, informative rest.
Tatarstan President looked around the territory of the renovated camp: he visited dormitories, sports grounds, a canteen, a club and a first-aid medical centre.
Under the Summer for Children camps renovation programme, it is planned to completely renovate the infrastructure of 94 municipal camps of the republic for a total of 7 billion roubles.
